Frequently Asked Questions

Located inside Black Butte Ranch. Black Butte Stables  is located in the heart of the cascades, just outside of the town of Sisters. Our address is 13892 Bishops Cap, Black Butte Ranch OR and we are easily accessible from highway 97 just 7 miles from Sisters. 

Yes, our weight limit is 225lbs to ride. 

We take reservations up to 10 days prior the date you are wanting to ride. We take reservations via phone. If you have a special event such as birthday parties or corporate team building activities just give us a call and we can work out the details. If there is no answer please leave a voicemail and we will return your call. 

The minimum age for Little Buck a Roo is 3 years old, we also ask that no kids over the age of 6. You must be 7 years old for a trail ride that is 1hr or 1.5hr and you must be 10 years old for private rides like the 2hr and the half-day. 

All riders under the age of 18 are required to wear a helmet. Black Butte Stables has a wide variety of helmets to assure a safe fit for all sizes and shapes. 

We accept all forms of payment including touch pay. We do not accept checks. You will pay at the counter when you are completing the check in process prior to your ride. 

No! Anyone from anywhere can go for a ride at Black Butte Stables! 

Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Dress appropriately for the weather. Once you are on your horse we ask that you do not change your attire, if you need to make some changes your Wrangler will assist you.
